In the United States of America there is the NAFSA conference and the forum of rectors, in which the rector of the Karaganda state industrial university B.A. Zhautikov takes part.

Yesterday, on May 29, the NAFSA Annual Conference & Expo 2018 conference began in Pennsylvania. An agreement was signed between Karaganda State Industrial University and Michigan State University. This document will facilitate the participation of KSIU students in the American Semester (ASP) program and is called upon to develop a mutually beneficial learning process abroad. Now KSIU will be able to send its students to Michigan State University for study for one semester, for the academic year or for summer short courses.

Today the meeting of rectors takes place in Pennsylvania State University. Speakers include representatives of the Institute of International Education, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, universities of the United States and Kazakhstan.

Students and faculty of the State Research and Design Institute took part in the teleconference “Geothermal Resources and Perspectives of Their Use in Russia”, which took place on May 25 at the Interuniversity Academic Navigation Center in the mining and geological profile on the basis of the State Geological Museum named Vernadsky RAS with the support of the Academy of Mining Sciences.

The lecture for students of higher and secondary special educational institutions of Russia and UIS countries was made by the Director of the State Geological Museum named Vernadsky Russian Academy of Sciences, Ph.D. S. V. Cherkasov. In addition, the audience was the representatives of leading commodity companies. Among the participants of the space bridge were students and teachers of the KSIU. It should be noted that this is not the first experience of online participation of our university in such events.

One of the priority activities of the Interuniversity Academic Navigation Center is the implementation of the project on the formation of a unified communication platform for the development of a continuous system of education for children and youth in the field of geology and nature management, the education of an ecological outlook, career guidance for mining, geology and oil and gas. As part of this direction, the Center regularly conducts online broadcasts of lectures and master classes on the premises of its own professional recording studio equipped with the most modern equipment.

Student of the group “TMaE-15k” Beibut Tulkibaev took part in the regional contest “Abay oqulary” (“Abay readings”), where he took the second prize.

The organizer of the competition is the Office for the Development of Languages of the Karaganda Region. This event is held to support talented youth 17-29 years old, to expand the scope of the state language and improve the language culture.

In the first stage, the contestants read prose works of writers of Kazakhstan, in the second – Magjan Zhumabaev’s verses. Beibut Tulkibaev outscored more than thirty contenders – young actors and poets, university and college students, secondary school students and took second place. The third year student of the KSIU received a letter and a cash prize of 50 thousand tenge.

The rector of the KSIU Zhautikov B.A. congratulated B. Tulkibaev at the weekly meeting of the administration and for a long time established in the university tradition handed him, as the winner of the prize place, a corporate badge of KSIU.

The student was prepared for the competition by the Deputy Dean of the FETaCS, the senior teacher of the chair “KRaFL” Zh. K. Kapasheva.

The race was held in Karaganda on May 20 and became a truly large-scale and popular holiday.

On Independence Square, for all participants of the races for different distances and fans, the instructors of three fitness centers held a warm-up, and the students of martial arts schools demonstrated their skills. It was not only a sporting event, but also a cultural event with the performance of creative teams.

The general start was given by Akim of Karaganda region Yerlan Koshanov. Each participant chose the most “liked” distance from several proposed ones: “Sputnik” – 7 km, “Dostyk” – 14 km, half-marathon “Armanga zhol” – 21 km 97.5 m, “Balapan” (for children 8-14 years old ) – 2 km.

The track “Armanga zhol-2018” received the certificate of the Association of International Marathons and Runs. Registration of the participants of the half marathon was actively held on the websites qazrun.kz and flakar.kz, as a result, the figure “exceeded” 5 000. Among the runners – not only residents of different regions of Kazakhstan, but also guests from Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan and Belarus.

The main prize of the half marathon – one million tenge – among the men was won by the Belarusian professional sportsman Vladislav Pryamov, who, by the way, installed the track record – 1 hour 6 minutes. Among the women, the master of international-class marathon and half-marathon Victoria Polyudina from Kyrgyzstan became the winner.

– Effective labor activity, fruitful education and health are inextricably linked. Our students pay special attention to participating in sporting events, understanding how important physical activity is in their lives, “says Raisa Kolesnikova, teacher of the section for physical education of the KGIU. – Our students took an active part in the half marathon. Most of them ran at a distance of 7 kilometers, and Adilbek Kurakbayev chose a 14-kilometer route. Yerkebulan Sailaubekov duly ran 21 kilometers, despite the fact that the distance is decent, the load is huge, and among the rivals are professional athletes.

All the finishers were awarded commemorative medals and certificates. Participants received a great charge of vivacity and good mood.

– For me, as for a person who has not done sports for a long time, 7 kilometers were given with little difficulty. The marathon itself turned out to be a kind of hardening, after which I decided to resume sports, – says the student of the group “TOMD-17” Kirill Malov. – The spirit of rivalry did not leave me and a day after the race. Now I will prepare for the marathon, which will be held next year.

The library of the Karaganda State Industrial University on May 17 received 1485 copies of books translated into Kazakh under the program “New Humanitarian Knowledge. 100 new textbooks in the Kazakh language “.

The books were published by the public foundation “Ulttyk audarma burosy” on the request of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Translation into the Kazakh language of world works is historically significant for the country. The textbooks have been translated and published as part of the program to modernize public consciousness. The project “100 new textbooks” has a special role in educating the younger generation.

“Young people should receive knowledge corresponding to higher scientific standards,” President Nazarbaev noted at the presentation of the textbooks that took place in April this year in Astana. – Scientific knowledge is the main condition for the competitiveness of the modern nation. New textbooks are a real encyclopedia of knowledge. Now it is important not only the method of education, but also its content. In this regard, the program “Ruhani zhangyru” provides an opportunity to implement a five-year national education. In world practice, there are few examples of the implementation of such a comprehensive program. New textbooks are an exclusive humanitarian library. It will be available to all people in three formats: in the form of ordinary paper books, in electronic online versions and in the format of a video library of open lectures from the best lecturers. Our young people living abroad will also have access to it at a time when the books will be published in Latin.

Among the books translated into the Kazakh language are the best intellectual products of the USA, Russia, France, Switzerland and Great Britain. Translation was carried out from the original language.
