About the Department
September 1, 1963 the Plant technical college at the Karaganda steel works was organized. The order No. 2 of 01.11.63 at Temirtau Plant technical college organized chair “Chemical technology”. In 1965 the chair was divided into the following chairs:
- “Physical and analytical chemistry” chair;
- “General chemistry” chair;
- “Technologies of Chemical Production” chair.
In 1996 after accession of Mineral processings chair there is an association of chemical chairs. On December 10, 1996 the prof., Dr.Sci.Tech. Muzychuk V.D. became a head of the “Chemical technology and mineral processing” chair. Since 1998 the joint chair is headed by the associate professor, Cand. Sci. Chem Arbuzov V.A. and the chair is renamed into chair “Chemical technology”.
In 2007 the section “Ecology” was attached to chair “Chemical technology” owing to what the chair received the name “Chemical Technology and Ecology”.
The chair lets out chemical engineers. Our experts work as a part of groups and chiefs of technological laboratories, central plants laboratory, coke and chemical laboratory, head examination and criminalistics laboratories, ecological service and service emergency. On JSC Arselor Mittal Temirtau, Temirtau electric steelworks practically there is no shop, service, division where our graduates don’t work.
In the period from 2012-2014 the Department was headed by Ph. D., associate Professor Nina Gavva Fedoseevna. From 2014 to 2016 was the head.Department of Ph. D. Uleva Gulnara Anatolyevna.
From September 2018, heads the Department of chemical technology and ecology -Kabieva Saule.
