Student Assessment System

Evaluation of educational achievements of KSIU students is carried out on the basis of a score-rating system, according to which the final student grade for the semester for each discipline is derived on the basis of summation of rating points received by him in all control activities in this discipline during the semester and during the final control (an exam). At the same time, 60% of the final grade falls on the current and midterm control, and 40% on the exam grade.

The maximum grade for each type of control is 100 marks.

All types of current and midterm control are reflected in the work curriculum of the discipline, the teaching and methodical complex of the discipline, the syllabus.The final grade (FG) is calculated as follows:

FG = RA×0,6 + E×0,4

where   RA – rating of the admission;

E – the examination.

The rating of the admission  is calculated as the arithmetic average of the estimates obtained for each type of control in the first and second half of the semester, respectively. A student is admitted to the exam only if his rating of the admission rating is at least 50 marks. The maximum admission rating is 100 marks.

The final grade is given only after passing the exam in accordance with the scale below:Table of accordance of grades
