Material and technical base
The Department is located in the main building of the University, in the new building and in the industrial production zone of KSIU. The premises of the Department include: educational and research laboratories, classrooms, computer room, workshops, storage rooms, archive of Department, teaching, study for undergraduates.
In the industrial production zone of KSIU there are laboratory of modern methods of metal forming, laboratory of preparation, section “Rolling mills”, hammer section.
In the new building there is a laboratory of press and forging and rolling equipment, Laboratory “Metrology”.
In the main building there are specialized classrooms, computer room, laboratory of mechanical tests.
The Department is equipped with modern laboratory, research equipment and devices.

Mini mill of helical rolling RSP 10-30 Purpose: it is intended for production of bars of small sections from all metals and alloys and allows to carry out orders for small and ultrafine parties with the expanded dimensional assortment in a short time. When screw rolling in a three-roll mill in the deformation center mainly shear movements of metal particles are created, which contributes to the maximum compaction of the structure and a significant improvement in the quality of rolled products. Hydraulic single column press PB 6330-02 Purpose: Hydraulic single column press with force of 1000 kN refers to the universal type of equipment to perform various pressure processing operations. The main operations performed on the press are mounting and pressing, stamping, stitching and calibration. When installing the correct table press can be used for editing. The press is also designed to perform operations such as cutting, trimming, bending and stamping. The press was used to test the developed new tools that implement shear deformation.
